NEED HELP:A.I.R./SMOG REMOVAL!!

i know there are alot of threads on removing all the emissions things(air and all the smog ****) but i need someone to tell me step by step how to remove stuff and things i need to buy. yesterday i remopved my cat and replaced it with a straight pipe and i cut the a.i.r. hose goign to the cat.- and thats it. in pa if u drive ur car less than 5000miles/year ur emissions exempt so thats why im pulling all this ****. i want to know how to get rid of the whole air system and the smog pump. im not gonna use my a/c so i guess an a/c delete pulley-but i dont wanna rip the a/c out just so when i go n sell it i can throw the other pulley on. so what all materials do i need.(pulleys,caps,elbows,etc.) and i also want to do the heater valve delete so if u have any suggestions please respond. thanx

y bother? that stuff create no drag on the motor, a/c might if its on but as u said u dont use it. just leave it there and replace the car with a highflow, u might lose 5FWHP on a 800hp motor

Removing your emissions equipment on a street vehicle is a FEDERAL offense, regardless of your state's emissions regulations. If you get caught, you can be punished with a fine, jailtime or both. Stop giving us hot rodders a bad name.

No offense to you Kevin, but if you want to get all technical, any modifactions done to a car to increase permormance is also illegal if not reported to the DMV and your insurance company.

Haven't you heard about news about the earth's temperature rising lately. The equipment's operation is more important than it's appearance. How much driving do you do? I live in Pa. also. I put 2200 miles on my car last year. I still don't have headers because 2055's are pricey.

How do you figure? All the parts on my car are 50-state legal except the LT4 HOT cam. I also pass California smog checks cleaner than stock. The only thing illegal about modifying a car is if you remove emissions equipment in any state and/or install parts that arent 50-state legal if your state requires them.

LOL Lets look at this a little deeper. The AIR pumps does JUST that, PUMPS AIR into the exhaust, AFTER it leaves the engine, in order to make the PPM (parts per million) of CO1 "Appear" to be less and therefore in a test it passes, but in reality the engine now has about 80 more cubic inches of outside air getting pumped through the exaust.
Makes a test look good, does absolutely NOTHING for the environment.
I am just talking the AIR pump now.
There is heat energy that cant be reconverted to other forms, it is called Entropy. It is building on the planet, also with help from some violent sun spot explosions lately.
What can we do??
Pop in a 180 T stat, run a fan switch that turns on at 189 (vs 220)
The car will run in closed loop, run much cooler, and save your 700 tranny. Save adding that extra 20 degrees to the planet!
Air pumps are a huge farce started in the 70's to meet emissions regs but cheating and adding more "clean" air to get a certain test result. Cars exactly alike, one with, and one without a air pump put out the SAME emissions, barring no codes and fuel system is untouched.

The air pump serves two functions, both of which you failed to mention. When the car is cold, the air is directed to the catalytic converter. The extra oxygen provides more catalyst, causing the converter to heat up to its operating temperature faster. A hot cat does a better job than a cold one.
Second, the air valve directs the air into the exhaust manifolds/headers. That extra oxygen reacts with any unburnt fuel and hydrocarbons in the exhaust, and converts them into inert carbon dioxide, instead of harmful carbon monoxide.

It is true that oxygen helps platinum, and paladium work more effectively. When the pump thing was started though, there was no Cat, circa 1968.
Id love to know the percent good it does, especially after a few years with an older cat.
