my 89 TBI IROC still is stalling when the gas is pressed, and then getting a surge of power or dying, sometimes it detonates before getting the power surge.... sometimes it just dies... if it is running down the road at 2000-4000 RPM and I punch the gas it stalls, sometimes dies or sometimes gets the power surge. after the surge it seems to pull pretty good... I was going to check timing but my timing light must be broken as it never came on, I did notice when I unplug the ESC the idle goes down a bit and becomes much rougher.

fuel filter

engine breather

what can it be? I ran some B12 thru the TB and some seafoam thru the gas... no improvement.

 

anyone have an idea? I'm so tired of this thing already I might just sell it.

 

check your fuel pressure. It could be the pump is not keeping up.

 

I think your fuel pump is on its way out.

 

who makes a FP gauge for GM TBI? I can't find one. - cheap is preffered
