LO3 could use some more power
off the line car acelerates strong, but sometimes if i hit the gas when car is rolling, it is on the weak side. not horible but could use some more power. what is the most cost effective way to get some more power out of this engine. i like the TBI for its simplicity. it just runs good not too much to go wrong with this setup. exaust is the best mod? what should i use for an aircleaner assmebly? that stock L03 thing is pathetic. the air cleaner in my s10 blazer with a 4.3 breathes better than that thing does. i do have an L69 aircleaner assembly dual snorkle. however it isnt going to work. A.I.R system is in the way yuk. i hate that air tube system with all of those tubes and extra hoses, basiclly clutter under the hood too bad i cant get rid of it. this car runs good and i dont want to throw mods at it that could throw things out of balance. car also gets EXCELLENT gas millage, 25+ MPG. eat that honda a v8 that gets ALMOST as much gas millage as a boring whiney 4 cyc. so what can i do to increase power without completely destorying my gas millage or engine.
P.S. sometimes when i really "get on it" car will rev up to 5,500-5,700 RMP will this damage this engine? redline is at 5,000 RPM so usually i let off the gas around 4,800 RPM. is there anyway i can make the car shift exactly at or around 5,000 with full throttle?

Welcome aboard. Take some time to read the New to TBI sticky linked at the top of the page. It should cover all of the questions you have in regards to these motors.
The crank and your internals should be fine at 5700 rpms. You might get valve float a little above that (which isn't good), so I wouldn't push it too far.
You can change the springs in your governor if you want to change the shift points in your car (you can get the kits at Summit) ...but I wouldn't think that it's really necessary in your case. The stock L03 doesn't make much power above 5000 rpm anyway, so there's really no need for you to be revving it that high.
