some questions about my non EGR setup
ok guys i just got the car fixed and i now i am checking all the little stuff!! yay!!
the intake gasket is leaking in the front and back (my fault with the rtv
) and the timing is almost set right. now i got the edelbrock performer intake without the EGR. now i havent gotten the headers yet i am still useing the stock exhaust manifolds for right now. now i will be tuning it soon so the prom is stock. on the test run when i stepon it the car looses all power, is that becouse i need to tune the EGR out or is that something else? Just checking all the bases so i know what to do next ...
thanks all

Make sure to set the timing with the EST bypass wire disconnected. It is a tan/black wire going away from the distributer and will have a connector inline. Disconnect it and set the timing at 0-6* BTDC.

You don't have to have a timing light to get it set properly. Turn the engine over until the mark on the balancer lines up with 4* BTDC on the pointer. Then remove the cap and rotor. Now loosen the hold-down an line the star wheels up point to point (should be the nearest ones, just requiring a little tweak.
