Those times sound a lot like a stock 305 car would run.... are you sure its a 350? If it is what mods have you done, a mild 350, in good running order, should easily capable of mid 14's

My experience is all mods, tourqe, horsepower cost money, and you get what you pay for. Also depends on your idea of cheap. If you have to pass emissions i dont know anything that will give you that much of an improvement unless your atleast willing to spend a couple hundred dollars. In MS we can cut or cars and take off the smog pump because they dont check it.Maybe a homemade cold air intake,or disconect the smog untill your emissions test. Its pretty damn easy and i'm no mechanic.Maybe you can find something in the search or someone else has an idea but unless someone gives you something i dont know many other way to get SUPERCHEAP.Good luck

for under $200 at either jegs or summit, a set of 4.10 gears will make it seem like a new car, or you could even ask around in the for sale section to see if anyone else has a set for sale.

no no, 4.10 gears is waaaay too high. My car has 3.73's and that is too high still in my opinion. You get more acceleration by a long shot but on the highway dont plan on any high speed.

Since it has a 350, and you have no track times for it, if it is running descently, why not run it, and see what the old girl is capable of.

That motor will necessitate chip work. If you are running on the stock tune you aren't making use of that 350.

Am I understanding correctly that you ran those times with a 305 in your car, but you just dropped in a 350, and you want to know how to lower your quarter, before you even see what the new motor does? Just run the darn thing, see where you are at now with the 350 you just put in, then worry about your time. The car you have may as well have never run the 305s time because a 350 is a whole different animal. If it’s a decent 350 the car will be completely different at the track. Do you have any ideas on hp/torque numbers for your new 350? There’s the major question. The 305 you had has sucky hp but decent torque so off the line it will seem different, but not as drastic as you might think, especially if you have an underperforming 350. With a 350 your acceleration will be better (more cubes = more torque) and you will find your top speed in your quarter will be a lot better (more hp). Just race it and then plan for faster times.

A TBI 350 and a TBI 305 have very little difference in HP output. The 350 usually makes around 30 ft/lbs more torque though. The HP difference is usually less than 20. It is probably even less of a difference with the exhaust nature of the L03. The WHOLE stock exhaust is HORRIBLE!!! on a 305, much less a 350. Then add in the fact that he is probably still using the 305 ECM, Injectors, Knock sensor, etc, it is likely that the 350 runs WORSE than the 305 did. For $200.00 I would invest in a 350 ECM, 61 lb/hr 350 injectors, AFPR, and 350 knock sensor.
