Autozone, And my friend thermac

Well if you live in Massachusetts anywhere near Lynn or Saugus dont bother going into a autozone. The people i delt with there today didnt even want to help me , they actually looked aggrivated that i wanted to buy a sensor from them. Stupid autozone calls the IAC like 3 different names as well. Finally we found what i was looking for but he said there wasnt any instock/and he couldnt order it so now i have to visit the dealer and see how much he is gonna charge. problem is i need the IAC connector Male and Female ends.Rant over (sorry)

So onto my real question, My THERMAC system has been unplugged since i can remember. should i spend the money and purchase a new THERMAC sensor and all the tubing? or should i just plug the vaccum hole and be done with it? and if i do plug the hole am i going to get any ses codes? or lose gas milage? what benifits/downsides can happen?
TIA

Last time I checked the dealer charges about $75 for a new IAC. So I just cleaned mine out.

And I removed my whole thermac system a few months ago to help the air flow in the air cleaner a bit. I haven't noticed any negative repercussions. Yet.

remove the rant and i bet more people actually respond..... you dont need the thermac, plug the vac hole. no codes etc.

whats a thermac sensor?

as for the iac harness. look around... there are better places than a dealer to get one. you can buy the connectors from various aftermarket places since there are a few people using the gm iac for aftermarket efi.
google it or contact painless wiring or something like that.

Yup i did find the IAC female connector off of the harness(finally) but its completly melted into a plastic goo mess, must have been this way for years sadly. i wonder on how to reattach that part now will i just have to cut the wire and soder/shrink tube it? will it work ok after that? any imput would be appriciated
