Hey guys My first post I know this is a old post but im hoping to get a answer I have a 95 K1500 with a 305 tbi want to replace with a 350 tbi. My computer is a BJXL. So can I just put a prom chip in it? I found a prom BYXL for a 95 c1500 with a 350 is this what I need? thanks

Thanks for the fast reply they may have it listed wrong on eBay anyway if I find the right prom chip is that all I need or do I need to replace the computer also

Thanks for taking your time to help out on that.so according to what you sent me all I need is the prom chip and my computer will work.so the prom chip is kinda like a hard drive for a pc. Thanks

All you need is the appropriate memcal. It’s a calibration for the ecm.

hi all, new to this site. just purchased a 91 r/s with 305tbi. i'm starting to gather the parts to swap in a 350. i have a 350 roller cam block with a balanced assembly with flat top pistons , and lunati efi cam with 219/227,471/480 lift, on the engine stand. i was looking at a new set of heads from epm machine in oregon. alu castings,vortec 64cc chambers,190runners,202/1.60 valves ,and tbi bolt pattern, for $799 . sound like a good combo ?

what about the knock sensors. i think the original 5.0L that came in my camaro came with two knock sensors, and this 5.7L only has one. i just checked under the car and have found what seems to be an extra knock sensor connector. would this affect the ECM in any way. seems like it would. if so, what can be done to address this problem?

The closest calibration for your ecm is atjp or anlu.

Would an 87-89 Corvette ESC Module work for my 350 TBI swap? Ive got one of those and I figured it would match ok to my stock L98 knock sensor.

Hey guys, Im in the process of doing the 305-350 swap on my 901 RS. I have the 350 injectors,ESC and Knock sensor. No chip yet. I know if i dont change the chip it will run rich..But im also changing the entire exhaust to headers and NO cat with 3 inch. Also the air filter will be a K&N. will this lean it out enough? If not I need to find a chip.

I apologize if this is a repeat dumb question but I'm having a hard time finding a chip for my 1989 305 swapped to a 350 TBI. I found this one at Hypertech (129362 chip) it's for an 1989 Caprice. Their sales staff is useless at answering the followig question. "Will the 129362 chip work in my 1258746 ECM."

Atjp and anlu are the letters on top of the chip the broadcast code. The one on eBay might work I’d just verify chip code.

If your staying with a 8746 no need to worry about a calpak but if you go 747 truck ecm there is a v6 and v8 calpak

I'd prefer to keep the 746 and just swap the chip if that's possible. The Hypertech part number is 129362 for its 1989 Caprice chip. They're trying to sell me the 5.7 TPI performance chip and I keep telling them it won't work. They know less than I do which is concerning.

Hi so last year I swapped my 1985 T/A 305 Tpi in to 350 TPI the 350 came from a 1986 k10. With the swap I put a bigger camshaft and a 1985 corvette Prom,350 knock sensor(it cam with the engine),22lb injectors,fuel pressure regulator and 1991 formula 350 ESC MODULE,I put my 305 heads and intake on it. Some how im still having problems with idling I do have a BBK throttle body,I’m using my OEM1985 Trans am ECM Can I have some help and tips please this car means so much to me

A wideband gauge to see afr or rely on narrow band to see fuel trims as suggested above.
