pull your driverside valve cover and look for a casting #.If it's an 88 then your more than likely to have the swirlies.I believe the Full casting number is 140101187.

The stock heads are capable of supporting 300hp and with port work they will support more. If your motor is stock you have other bottlenecks that are limiting power. Swapping heads would yield no power difference because of the other bottle necks (cam, exhaust). What are your goals for the car and what type of power do you want to make? You shouldn't consider a heads swap until you understand TBI chip tuning as well as proper parts selection (X cam with X heads with X tuning with X intake ect ect.)

well, ive done the fuel pressure thing, have lifted the TBI unit as well as the injectors, added open air element, Cat delete (for now).. I want headers but theres so many and i dunno. ive checked out the exhaust forum, and everyone has a diffrent set.. so its hard to figure out what i want for that.. right now i have the stock l05 Exhaust hooked to the 350. I have a super turbo muffler, Sounds great through all RPMS, its got a Deep low tone.. its not loud but not like your 2005 chevy pickup exhaust.. (which sucks).
Cam.. i dunno whats in it, the prev owner rebuilt the engine.. I got his phone number.. i should call him sometime..
What i want... all my power, Torque and hp, is way low, i can hit 85 just resting my foot on the throttle about 1/32 of throttle.. I get 25mpg right now thats city and highway combined cruising at 55, and when i say city i mean stop and go and stop and wait and go.. Maybe i should add short flow headers and leave it alone?
however when the throttle it Wide open theres not much there, same way at half.. i have a 2200 Stall convertor i dunno where to start, or if i even should.. I hate seeing the newer 1994 Camaros 100% stock running faster and quiker than me.. but maybe i should keep the 25mpg..?
