problem

i just rebuilt my 2.8 TBI and im having a couple problems.

after driving for a while my temp light comes on, but im not overheating and my coolant levels are fine

usually right after this the car will not start, im getting spark, but my fuel injectors arent pulsating. fuel injected vehicles cant have vapor lock right? and its a brand new fuel pump and im getting plenty of pressure.

will a bad coolant temp sensor cut off fuel if it thinks the engine is too hot?

sometimes my starter will just click, but usually cranks right after, the starters been recently replaced.

my fuel injectors just arent spraying fuel, once it sits for about an hour, fires right up with no problem, no hesitation and idles smoothly

new 02 sensor
new coil
new control module
new computer
new distributor
new plugs/wires
new fuel pump/lines

Sounds to me like you have a wiring problem somewhere. You might want to go over all of the wires to make sure nothing got snagged up while you put the motor back in etc.

i just pulled two codes from the ecm

EST bypass circuit is open or grounded

map sensor

so i guess my coolant temp sensor isnt bad. im gonna check for grounded wires and get a new map sensor tommorow

would either of these be my starting problem?
