TBI & Fuel pressure regulators

At the moment, there's a couple of active threads that deal
with fuel pressure regulation for TBI's, but I haven't yet seen
any responses that will help me out, or that might even go in
the direction I'm interested. So for the master Yoda's out there...

Project data:
-- A 350 modified enough (cam, heads, headers, etc) to justify
700 - 750 cfm induction.
-- Cost-benefit analysis -> keep the TBI control system intact
but upgade as necessary, such as:
- ECM upgrade from RBob, & custom tuning
- TBI modification to support the cfm requirement above.

The original TBI unit has a static pressure regulator, which can
be upgraded to a variable one. But there doesn't seem to be a
way to accurately measure the pressure at the injectors.
For maximum tuning of these units, how useful is it to know this???

Assuming it is useful, what about removing/disabling the built-in regulator,
and adding an external one to facilitate precise pressure measurement?

thanks,
kk

what the fuel pressure is set at is a need to know item.

you can get a fuel pressure gage kit that will allow you to mount an adapter where the fuel filter goes at & tie the pressure gage into the adapter. you would only have this hooked up when you are making a change to the fuel pressure.
