EGR Valve adapter?
EGR Valve adapter?
I recently had a fast burn 385 installed in my 88' Camaro. In order to pass emissions, I have the old TBI setup from my car. Since I changed form a 305 to a 350, the intake manifold from my old engine didn't fit. The mechanic who installed my engine told me which intake to get. I bought a holley pro-jection intake that has a location for my EGR valve. However, the EGR valve won't fit.
When the mechanic ran an emissions test on the car it easily passed, but I don't think I'll pass the visual inspection without an EGR. I was told to get an EGR adapter by my mechanic, but I can't seem to find one. I really need to get my hands on one fast!! I have one month until I have to take my emissions test.
Also, I know that the TBI unit I'm running is way to small, but the paperwork that came with the engine suggests a 750 cfm carb. I know that Holley has a 670 cfm TBI, but would that be enough to power my engine?

first off there is no such thing as a EGR adapter, I found this out after Holley told me I needed one also (morons) and then went searching for one only to find out what I really needed was:
1) A EGR valve from a 1978 350 Chevy PU (Standard Part number EGV328)..some grinding required on edge of EGR base due to Holley Projection EGR mounting surface not being machined right.
2) At least a 3/4" TB spacer to raise the TB up off the intake so the EGR vavle will not hit the IAC motor. I made one out a 3/4" piece of aluminum. The part number for a name-brand spacer that Holley gave me is made by Carter and it's Part # 72-107.
have fun!
