305 tbi to 350 tbi now having computer problems
305 tbi to 350 tbi now having computer problems
Just recently i converted my 305 to a 350 tbi and now my comp is having some major dificulties. It feels like it misses and then will accelerate smoothly and sometimes it will load up and die. I put 350 injectors in my tbi and an afpr. WTF i don't know why it keeps running like this the tbi is also polished and i have a 1 inch tbi spacer. If you think i need a cusyom chip then its coming this christmas and if you say that i need a holley 670 cfm tbi then i heard that the gm tbi has better injectors and are able to handle more fuel pressure thatn the holley injectors. My plugs are also a nice brownish gray and the car doesn't smoke or run rich but occasionally will load up when cold. Any other ideas on how i can fix this let me know thanks for any input.
yeah, you will need a custom chip the flow of the new inj's is diffrent and the computer don't know the new flow. depending on how into cars you are YOU could burn the chips with a little trial and error.
also , depending on who much air you need you may want to get a TBI unit off of a 454 truck.

underdog is right, you absolutely need a custom chip. Once you get a chip burned, you shouldn't have anymore problems. I would recommend either fast chip, or another good aftermarket chip company.
Well that answers most of my questions but with the 454 tbi will i be able to put the 350 injector pod on the throttle body and will the sensors on the 454 unit still work with my ecm and will i need to mention to the chip burner that i have a 454 throttle body with 350 injectors? how much cfm's is the 454 unit? thanks guys ya'll really know your stuff about this tbi and im still learning.
