So when you put that piece of pipe in when you removed your cat what did you do with the little pipe that used to be going into the cat??

Also did you get any errors??

 

I took the cat out when I did the headers. My cat I just burnt off when I did the headers and Y-pipe. Then from the Y-pipe to the old 3" cat-back system I just had the local muffler shop welded a 3" pipe between the 2, connecting them together and had them burn off the old cat. Had to go to the local muffler shop and had them make a pipe to fit where the cat used to be. I didn't have any problems with the cat, headers are always a bitch and I had a real tuff time trying to get the dip stick back into the oil pan.
No codes, but the guy that had the car before me disabled the emmision stuff and took out the AIR and smog pump. So that may be why I didn't get any codes or an SES light. Ask some other people with emmisions still on there rides w/o the cat and see if they threw any. E-mail me if u have anymore questions or if this post didn't get u anywhere.

muffler shop took off your cat? hmm, thats a $12,000 fine if the epa found out. They can make the pipe for you though.

 

They do a lot of stuff at the muffler shop I go to that are illegal. I like it there. We even went around with open headers for a bit. If you lived in the city I lived then u would see that no one would ever bother turning them in for something like that.

 

How do you remove the smog and AIR pump??
Pictures and detailed as possible please if ya can

Is it hard and will it help anything??

 

Sorry man. I have no clue. The orginal owner did it. He was a mechanic. Looks like he did some rewiring though. I will take some pics when I can of what I am talking about. I think there is a tech article about it but I might be wrong.
