cams and 1'6 rr's
hey, i heard on here about swapping in 1'6 ratio rockers with the stock cam. thought it sounded hokey but ive been reading up lately and in one of the books i looked at titled "How to BUild and modify small block chevy valvetrains" the author had a pic in the rocker section of a "typical smog era 305" that he had put 1.6 ratio rockers on, it had the stock cam but was putting out over 200 hp! no telling if its a l03 but what would the stock cam specs become if we did this mod? i would think our power bands would shoot up higher in the rpms but what else?
i know robert frank did this with good success so lets see what turns up, might have an alternative to the lt1 swap.

On a stock cam it is indeed a good mod. There is more than one documented case here on TGO where 1.6 rockers yeilded around a tenth in the 1/4 with a stock cam'd LO3. A little more cylinder fill goes a long way with a weak cam.
