I FIGURED OUT A BETTER SHIFT POINT I REALLY THINK I COULD BEAT HIM NOW!!

Great news everyone. I figured out a new shift point when i race. I was shifting at 4300 but i tried it at 5200 and it was awesome i even got second gear scratch. I feel really comfident that i could beat him by at least 1 car length now. But im gonna wait and race him till i get my intake and gears. Im gonna blow him away. Thanks

good job. someone else should have told you that. By shifting later you don't let 2nd gear lag because of the huge dropoff from 1st to 2nd. just be careful though. the Stock vave springs don't like to rev that high. You might get valve float.

How much would a good set of springs cost?? I guessing that I would want to match them with the cam I wanna but!!?

valve float at 5300 rpm?
ive seen stock valvesprings do allright far beyond that, ridden in cars with stock l03 valve springs that sotp had no valve float until a little beyond 6500 rpm

5300 rpm is where you should be shifting at really
