Who has removed it and what problems/benifits have you had?

I'll be using a 454tb with a jr victor or performer rpm air gap on a 96 350vortec engine. Will I need to have a chip burned to run without the egr and not have problems with preigition?
Also what cam would you suggest with the stock heads?

I need some good advice on this one.

i have never had a problem with mine out, i just used a check valve that i plugged off the other outlets on so the computer thinks it is doing something. that way it won't pitch a code. if you get a custom chip burned just have them turn the egr off and you can just get rid of the whole thing.

NJ, have you noticed the ecm pulling out any timing since you disconnected it? Did you have to compensate by retarding the timing any? I would hate to hurt my new engine before I have a chance to get it dialed in.

I did what NJ said without any negative effects a while ago. I am currently experienceing some running problems, but not realted to the egr bypass.Although I am not one to talk as I still have a sock chip, but I would reccomend a good chip program to get the most out of your setup, Steve.
