intake and cam help on my tbi

Hey guys, in a couple of weeks, I am gonna install, a number of mods in my car. The 1st thing i will probably do is install a new edelbrock intake. What i wanted to know, is..when the stock intake is off, would it be easy access to replace the cam at the same time. I ask because, I only have my RS to get me around town..and cant be without the car for a long period of time. How long do you guys think it would take to install the cam? I know the intake only takes a few hours. Thanks

The intake could be done in a couple of hours if everthing goes well but it usually does not. Expect 3.5 to 4.5 hours, if things go real good maby 2.5to 3.0 hours. As far the cam change this is a lot more involved than just taking off the intake. You have to remove the radiator and everthing infront of it and then you still might not have a nuff room. I've never done it so maby someone else that has can answer this?. I don't think you want tpo atempt it on a weekend on your daily driver. Now if you were to borrow a friends car or maby someone is willing to take you where you need to go untill you finished your install, that would make more since. JMO, Steve

Check out this in-car camshaft installation procedure. After you've read up on it then you can decide for yourself if you've got the time. I've never swapped the cam, but I will say that any car work takes longer than you predict (sometimes ALOT longer).
