Will a tbi aftermarket exhaust fit on a TPI engine?
I'm getting a 89 Camaro tommorow (hopefully). It has a 305 tbi and I want to get a flowmaster exhaust system. In the future I will most likely be putting a 350 tpi in, will the catback system fit on the tpi?

Whats the difference between the TBI cat back and TPI one? Sizes?

Size is the difference. Unless they're talking about the dual cat that came on some.

When ordering an aftermarket catback they always list the (305,2.8,3.1) all together, and then they have the 305 HO engines together, the reason is that the HO engines which include the TPI's have a different bolt pattern for the catalyic converter.
If you buy a system for TPI it won't bolt to your TBI catalytic conveter! You will have get the Intermediate pipe modified to fit it. I bought the one for a TBI(L03) engine because I didn't want to buy something that cost that much just to have it cut up and welded on brand new.
At least for Hooker Catback systems they are all the same size except for when the pipe gets to the cat, then it will be different to fit the different cats. TPI or HO cats have 4 bolts, others have 2.

Thanks. I'll wait until I get the tpi in to get the exhaust system.

If you wait til then you can upgrade the whole system all at once and match the parts up then, headers, cat(if you keep one), and catback.
