EVERYONE READ -- Straight out of my Interpersonal Communications Book.

EVERYONE READ!

Ethics in communication. 4 guidlines.

1. TRUTH - Present the truth as you understand it; avoid misrepresenting the truth because it might better fit your purpose.
2. KNOWLEDGE AND PREPERATION - If you talk on a specific subject be so informed, so knowledgeable, that your listeners will be able to get the information they need to make reasoned and reasonable choices.
3. OTHER CENTERED - Have the other person's interests in mind. Communication should not be used to exploit others.
4. ACCOUNTABILITY - Take responsibility for what you say. Communication researcher Jon Hess suggests that you should tell your listener if you're not sure of certain information, make clear when you're using facts and when you're using opinions, and avoid misleading your readers by encouraging them to believe what is not true.
Each of these should be easily and obviously applied to many of our posts.
We have more closed posts on this board than any other at thirdgen.
We also have more people here that are more interested in informing everybody of their opinion than fact based or supported information.

No, you who's posts here were deleted, this isnt tech.
It is a message, that if everybody read and followed, everybody here would get a whole lot more good information, and we would have a lot less arguements and misunderstandings and ego involved disagreements.
Thanks and have a nice day.
Everybody should think of these 4 guidlines everytime they post.
