TB adaptor plates! so many to choose from

Okay, I'm either getting the edelbrock performer or RPM intake for the 350HO engine (vortec heads). Now I thought I was just going to get the normal square bore to TBI adaptor but I was just looking at all the other adaptors and they look better. I remember somebody telling me that the square to TBI doesn't look like it was completely finished. Something to do with the bore being really rough and long. Now as I look at the other adaptors on the holley page: http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLin...IA/Access.html , I notice that some even have the holes drilled to mount the TB backwards. Whatever, I'm just trying to figure out the best spacer/adaptor for my swap before I go out and buy something that is inferior.

I think I'm going to go with the normal adaptor since I'm leaning towards the performer RPM. Are there any other vortec intakes other than GM and edel?

JPrevost, those multiple hole adapters are not for mounting the TBI backwards but for flipping the adapter over if it works better for your applications. That way, you can still mount the TBI becasue the holes are already there. You must plug the 3 non-used holes in that adapter with plugs/loctite or you'll have vacuum leaks, obviously. That adapter comes with the ProJection 2DI kits, fyi.

So what are my options? How much is the turbo city adaptor? I'm really just curious about the heated plate and the reason why the holley TBI-square bore has that really ruff looking bore. What the hell is that? I'm going to have to call up Holley and ask.

Don't buy that turbo city piece of crap plate! It is bare steel (rust!). On mine (2" version), the opening was just a big oval that was cut out with a plasma cutter or similar and wasn't even cleaned up afterwards. My butterflies wouldn't even open because the cut started and stopped on the radius below one of the butterflies, making the cut wavy! Well, after running a 2" end mill through, I found out that the countersunk hole wasn't even 82 degrees-they just used a drill bit! What a piece of crap.

Okay, so no turbocity, thanks for the input. Now would somebody tell me why the holley TBI - square bore looks like it's unfinished. I've read other posts about this and people say it's suposed to be there, I just don't see the point. Doesn't ruff = less velocity? That's the whole idea behind porting and polishing isn't it..
Okay, I'm gonna call them and I'll get and answer. Also does anybody have the bolt numbers for the adaptor plate? This is gonna be my first engine swap and it needs to be done in less than a week. Kind of pushed for time so I'm trying to get EVERYTHING ready so I'm not running around for parts.

IMO you do not have to wory about the finish on the 2" holes in an adapter plate for flow... You may/could radius the bottom egde of the adpater bores to reduce the square-edge flow turbulence but you won't really be able to feel any difference until above 6000 or so so not worth it, really.

On the contraire, the engine is going to see 6500 as a redline when I'm done with it. New cam, new valve springs, new torque converter and the intake manifold is going to be the performer RPM (1500-6500). I'm going for 380hp when I'm all done and it is very possible since the current cam shaft is extreamely small, small enough to pass the sniff test no problem. So, high flow is going to be a must.
