Hehehe, yeah, a lot of money and a lot of time. Sometimes I wonder if it is even worth it.

It takes somebody from NJ to hit low 14's with stock 305 L03 bottom end AND stock "peanut" cam. I would do exhaust, then intake, then heads. Heads seem to be the L03's biggest draw back but it's also the most expensive to replace that is why I'd leave it to be the last bolt on. 1.6 rockers with stock cam help if you've done intake/exhaust w/heads. If not then the 1.6 rockers are worthless. I don't see the huge problem with people and making TBI powerful. It's not like it's that different from a TPI or carb car. It's the imbetween so why don't more TBI peeps do anything? I think it might be because all the TPI guys have convinced them that it's a waste of money. Another reason might be because the RS isn't exactly a special edition and people that bought the RS and TBI setups didn't care for speed, they just liked the looks and then they junked the car or sold it off for a new car. Anybody else get that feeling? What happened to all the 91-92 RS camaro's? I'm seeing less and less thirdgen's which is fine by me.
Back to subject (sorry about the side note, I do that a lot), to get into the mid 14's takes work and money just like any other car. An option is to just get a performance crate 350 and swap it in. I'm doing a swap that should cost me just around $3000. I have all the exhaust work done and trans is built so I just went for it, I should be in the high 13's with the peg leg 3.08 and mid 13's with the future 12 bolt.

Dale Earnhart, you have done so much, you will be missed.

Sorry man, I looked specificly for this RS for 2 months 305/5spd and no t-tops or power options.I came across a few Z-28's but i planned on building a so called sleeper from day one.......sounds crazy but i wouldn't trade my RS for a z any day of the week....

I love the '91,'92 RS. I think they don't mess with the engine much because like mine, its performed flawlessly. 155k miles and runs like clockwork. Ripping off half the engine might mess that up and "rock the boat". What if a prefectly reliable car turned to crap by messing with it? It has enough power... for now

truely it is rather easy to be intothe mid 14's with this motor. i spent all the time doing the trial and error for you guys just to prove it
my latest revision of the 14 second formula:
1. a posi and 3.73 gears
2. 14x3 flat base open element
3. ultimate tbi
4a. auto guys, a 2400 stall converter and a good shift kit, ALDL manual converter lock up
4m. manual guys, a short shifter and practice launching clean.
5. make your next set of tires something that actually grips not bfg zr junkers or bad years. nitto or or bfg drag radials preferred.
6. learn to stage shallow.
7. a sensable diet, remove spare and stereo equipment.
that should put most people well into the 14's assuming that their engine is in good shape. if you decide to move onto heads, cams, and intakes the 12's are very doable.
