yesturday my car started up then just stalled.it idle's at about 600rpm then just stalls. it is as soon as i start it up. it did it about a week ago also. i have no idea what i could be any suggestions?

Since you are posting on a tbi board I'll just take a guess you have the LO3 engine. When I had a similar problem I started with basic stuff, like making sure your IAC valve and TPS is clean and adjusted properly. If you don't know how to do that there is a technical article on this site. If that is not the problem, give us some more info so we can try to help.

 

Does it to that everytime u go to start it or does the time it lasts get shorter and shorter everytime? Best thing to do man is get a code scanner or do the paper clip trick (that is in the tech articles) to pull some codes off your computer. It will tell u whats wrong with the car. It should give u 3 code 12's at first and then it will start throwing different codes to tell you what is wrong. Could be a bad CTS sensor or O2 sensor.

it is a 88 firebird 305/tbi. the only thing i have done is an open element and nocat
