Vortec Heads for a L03

Will Chevy's Vortec heads bolt up to a 305? I ahve always heard that 350 heads will screw up a 305.

They won't screw it up, but Vortecheads for a 305 have a 64cc chamber I believe. And 305 heads have 58cc chambers. So you will have to have them milled. Also as far as I know you cannot go bigger that 2.02 1.94 on the valves.

yeah you will definitely need to get them shaved down because with that chamber, you will get WAY too low compression ratio. if you take of some material, you will be all set. i odnt remember exactly what the spec was though, but you should be able to find it somewhere.

other than that they will work great.

i just looked through some old magazines...

mill the heads 0.045", and use a 0.015" head gasket to get just over 10.0:1 compression.

maybe a little high for an L03, but you get the idea.
