Is this gonna fit?

assuming its not freezing out tommorow Im going to install my edelbrock tbi intake. I currently have a 14x3 air cleaner on. The edelbrock intake puts the tb 1/4 inch higher. Will this clear my stock rs hood?

Yeah it should fit. I've got a 14"x3" on my car with a Torker II intake and thick-a$$ Holley TBI to 4bbl adaptor under my hood. There's no way that it's any taller than that.

It had better fit. I ordered the RPM intake (higher) and then the 1/2" adaptor plate and a 14x3 drop base air cleaner. I expect that all to fit under the my stock hood. If it doesn't then I'm in trouble. I bet I can figure something out to get it to fit. Even if I have to jack up the rear of the hood for a couple of weeks.

what I should do is go buy some clay then stick a cube of it to the top of the aircleaner over the stud, then shut the hood on it and see how much is left

I wish somebody would have done that clay thing for me BEFORE I ordered the parts. Oh well, I'll make it fit if it means cutting a hole in my hood (kidding). If it doesn't fit I'm just going to install a 14x2 and shorten the lid stud. If that doesn't fit then I'm going to cut two large lines from windshield to front, go about 2/3 the way and make my own temp cowl hood (also kidding).

I've seen an older red thirdgen riding around down here before with the hole cut in the hood. Looks pretty neat but he's got 2 3" K&N's so it sticks way out of the hood.
