to switch to four barrell

ok a buddy of mine is loooking at either an '88 or '89 formula and it has tbi. and he says you have to switch the heads for a four barrell intake to work. i was like why would they make special heads just for fuel injection. is this true???? and another thing the throttle body doesnt want to allow gas to the injectors we cleaned them out and gas doesnt even go through it. we think its fuel pump or the regulater for the throat body but he bought a used one that works and it still doesnt want to let fuel through it so what would that be????? anybody who answers thank you! cause we have been arguing about the head thing and i just want to know!!!!!!

He is wrong. You *can* install a regular carb manifold. Around 87 or so the center bolts on the intake changed angles so that is something to be aware of.

well, the heads dont flow too well so maybe hes arguing that a 4bbl wouldnt be very helpful with those crappy heads.

but, you dont "need" to change them. and any intake will fit, youde just have to elongate the center bolt holes on the new intake so that it will match the newer bolt angles.

as for you fuel injector problem. go to your dealer and get an injector pod rebuild kit. if you can, take the injector pod off the throttle body and take it to the dealer so he knows exactly what you need. it will have new orings, and injector filters. along with new gaskets. that way you can dismantle the pod. give it a good cleaning and put it together like it was new again. its not likely that you need new injectors, just a good cleaning. run some injector cleaner in your gas after you get it put back together. that will clean out the injectors themselves. if fuel still doesnt come out, check your fuel pump relay, (maybe you should do that first) then your fuel filter, and then finaly pump.
