Ok heres the story I have a 89 formula with a 305 that was rebuilt befor I got the car " I have receipts for EVERYTHING" and on certin nights or days the damn car makes a garggling sound like it maybe starving for fuel? It don't do it all the time just every once in awhile when its running right I can take it up to 5700rpm with out any problems at all this car will scream. I've put an ADS stage 3 chip, K@N filter, open faced breather, removed all smog including the cat, has a flowmaster TCI tranny that I ordered from JEGS, Accel Plugs and Wires "NEW" and many other little mods, can some one please help. Starting to get PISSED! Thanks Guys.

 

sounds like knock to me, retard the timing

 

its not a pinging sound, it litterliay sound like the engine is garggling through the intake!

and I still say it sounds like knock

my car has never made the typical knock sound, only the gargle as you describe, and its knock
