I have a 292 inline 6 in a 1966 chevy truck. I am thinking that a TBI would be sweet. I have never seen this mod. I only need about 450-500 cfm. I am thinking I could grab one off an L03. Figure out a way of mounting all ness. sensors and grab the harness and computer too(even the A4 from the donor vehicle). My concern would be the distributer. Did any trucks come with TBI on the 4.3 v6? Maybe that would be a better config? I am also thinking the 305 is more close in output. Any thoughts or suggestions?

yes 4.6's came stock with the same tbi as the lo3, and jeep guys are converting to tbi all the time.

 

You mau have to run an external ignition module but the conversion should go pretty smoothly. I would be on needeing some PROM work, though, unless you get REAL lucky with fuel pressure changes alone.
