Vaccuum pump
I have heard that vaccuum pumps on 'built' engines can add up to 35hp. Would there be any point in getting one for a stock LO3?

RS, I think you may have answered your own question. If you get a 35hp increase on a built engine(450hp+)probable more like(700hp+)it would only be a in an effort squeeze the last bit of power out of your engine. This works by providing a vaccum in the crankcase to better seal the piston rings there for making more power. It would be expensive and of little advantage on a stock engine.
Is this the answer you were looking for?

some of the buick racers around here run electric air pumps for their crankcase evac systems. One Chevy guy runs a belt-driven vacuum pump and has dyno numbers for it. It was worth 16hp on the engine dyno. This was a 650hp+ bigblock.
