Make your own dual snorkel set-up for 305 TBI???
Has anyone made a dual snorkel induction set-up for the 305 TBI engines since the GMPP's kit is no longer available.
I saw this company's (Ram Air Box) ad in the back of a magazine and checked out the website (www.ramairbox.com) and thought that it would be pretty straight forward to make your own dual snorkel set-up.
Any thoughts on this matter? I have posted a question about the dual snorkel system once before, but that was simply whether it was a worthwhile modification or not. . .got some really solid tech back on that question. . .hoping for the same experience again. . .my buddy wants to start upgrading his '90 Camaro convertible and I'm not very familiar with the TBI engines or the 3rd Gen F-Bodies (I've got a '67 Firebird 400 and '97 Camaro myself, but no 3rd gen so no personal experience to go off of for him).
I also checked out this sight as well

well if he has air conditioning first of all the dual snorkel is gonna be a PITA to route. second just throw on an open element and call it a day. you wont notice a difference from one to the other unless you somehow make it ram air which the factory was not. anyways just listen to most people here who will tell you open element is easier and just as effective.

I just got an email back from Ram Air Box and they said the same thing about the air conditioning. . .as this isn't my car and I have no previous experience working on 3rd-gen's I didn't know about this.
We will probably go with the open element filter since it is so much easier (and cheaper). . .I was just curious about the dual snorkel set-up becuase I like things that are not that common. . .if my buddy and I were to make a dual snorkel set-up it would end up being ram air. . .the suction would be from the underside of the front fascia just below the foglights (if it weren't a street car I'd say just yank the foglights, but I'm pretty sure that he wants to keep those). . .Spectre has ducting that would work in either application.
Thanks for the inputs. . .I still have to check out the links.
