Can that be used on the stock rearend with the 2.73's? I want limit slip but can't afford the 3.42's to go with it. I am sick of one wheel drive. I don't really mind the 2.73's for now but i would like power to go to both wheels when it is needed.

ya i would like to know if they are available for 2 series gears. My friend just had 4.10s put in his camaro and he wanted to get a good posi unit. The problem is he got the gears for a 2 series carrier becouse his old gear was a 2.73. Will the SLP unti work with both 2 and 3 series gears??

I suggest you give them a call. I ordered a 3-series and they implied that they carried both types

I don't know any posi unit that works with both carrier sizes. You need to call and make sure u get a carrier 2 posi if you are going to keep them 2:73's. But if I was you, ordering the carrier 3 posi and then later on ordering the gears would save u money in labor and in an extra set of gears.

Dont even bother keeping your 2.73 or 3.08 gears. If you're putting in a posi unit, get 3.23 or higher gears. Its VERY worth it. You can pick up a used set of 3.23 or 3.42 gears from a 4th gen car at their classifieds, like ls1.com or camaroz28.com. Dont forget you have to change the speedo gears in your trans to match your new rear end gears, so your speedometer reads correctly.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that, thanks Kevin. And that might cost ya around 200 bucks....well it does where I am from, maybe different where everyone else is. And I agree about getting rid of these 2:73's. With a set of 3:42's or 3:73's u can pick up an extra .4-.5 in the 1/4 mile. But I don't recommend used gears...I don't recommend anything that wears with age to be bought used.....but u can take that risk if u want.

I just changed my speedometer gears last weekend to match my 3.42 gears.Took me about 2 hours and about $20 worth of parts.I used the tech article and had no problems.I had to take the hold down bracket off the VSS sleeve and turn it 180 deg. because the new gear was larger (the driven gear shaft is off center). It worked great. By the way, I got the SLP take off posi last fall and I'm very happy with it.
