TES headers

How well do the Edelbrock TES headers fit? Does the cat hang to low or does it fit in the normal location? I was also thinking about Hedman headers. Has anyone used them or know anything about them?

SAnd blasted? whoa, the paint on there isnt that tough! and they dont HAVE to be repainted. I bought mine used with the original paint.. it was still intact just turned a slightly whitish color. A wire brush on a drill removes it VERY easily. can of 1500 and a few minutes baking it does the trick

The fit of exhaust systems relies way too heavily on the installer.. I could adjust my edelbrock pipes so that they dragged on the floor or hit the frame rails.. etc etc. Its all about WHERE you tighten the bolts down.

If you dont live in a state that requires carb E.O. numbers I would go with one of the many cheaper header brands out there without AIR. The edelbrock headers are not that great and the price for them new is just absurd. Especially considering how you need to grind down the AIR tubes in the primary pipes that seriously obstruct flow.

Ive also used Hooker headers, fantastic headers, large primary pipes, no problem.

To reiterate, the fitment of these exhaust systems relies 90% in the hands of the installer. THey have a very wide range of adjustment and Id say most if not all can be adjusted as if they were standardfrom the factory.

I failed to paint my edelbrock headers and y pipe when I installed them about 6 months ago. I pulled them off today to paint them, and belive me they needed it, there was nothing but rust

Grind down the AIR tubes? I'm going to install these headers at the end of the month and I'd like to know what's involved in grinding the AIR tubes. I'd like to know what I'm getting into. I'm only 16 so I don't have lots of money, so I don't want to waste it.

look into your headers. see the tubes sticking out into the primary tubes?

grind em down with a dremel.
