I'm building a 383 to replace my tired stock tbi 350 in my blazer and I cant figure out what cam to put in it. Its a scat 383 kit with sportsman heads and I'm looking for more torque than horsepower because its for offroading. I would like a cam that is hydro flat tappet non roller and will work with a modified tbi setup (bored tbi, FPR, bigger fuel pump, larger injectors and a new burned chip). My only thing is that I want it to not be to wild that I will have to do a lot of chip tunning to get it to run right.

 

I have a stroker in my truck and have a dual grind cam.
More lift and duration on the exhaust for low end torque.
Or just run a RV cam, Had one of those too and it did real well for wheeling and was good on the milage driving down the freeway..
You will want to change the TBI unit to a 454 body for the better cfm and put your 350 injectors in it. the 454 ones are to rich, that's what I had to do.
Tried a few chips to lean them out but it was just to much fuel.
