Are TBI upgrades possible?

I am currently building a 91 RS and I wanted to know if there are any performance upgrades for the TBI system. I am gettting the motor bored and balanced, rods, portting and polishing the heads and a comp cam. When it goes back into the car I'm using headers instead of the stock manifolds, and i already have a 3" flowmaster catback exhuast. I don't know if the stock TBI will give the engine enough fuel and air to run to its full potential. Everyone says to get a 350 but I want to do something different. 350's are like *******s everyone has one. I want a TBI 305 that has some serious *****! I'm trying to make the ultimate sleeper and any advice would be greatly appreciated,on the TBI system or what duration cam I should go with. I don't care about gas mileage, becuase it is just a project car, but I want the car to have a nasty lope when its idling and i want the most performance I can get and still be street legal. Like I said any help would be great!

I've heard that a 454 TBI unit will add a bit of performance.

The 454 TBI unit has 2" outlets, so make sure you get an intake (like the Holley Projection) that has 2" Inlets.

This is what I plan to do to my 305 TBI next.

Once you get the engine in, put 350 injectors in and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Keep your stock TBI unit though, i dont think you will have any airflow problems with a 305, just fuel. Dont forget an open element if you dont already have one.
