axle question

I have a 1988 305 tbi camaro. How do I tell if I have a 26 or a 28 spline axle?
I thought that starting in like 88 they were all 28 spline. Do I have to get the Number off of the rearend itself or does someone just know. (want to order a posi unit, but this is need to know stuff).

try the tranny board they know their stuff. I asked the same question about a month ago and a guy said that I should have 28 because mine is one of the lasts 91s (I have a 92 computer). sorry I have no idea what you have, you can always look up the number on the axle.

------------------
late model 91 rs
fully loaded t-tops, red leather
paint- gm red and yellow blend (light red)
custom painted 16" Camaro rims
305 tbi 14"x3" O.E, computer chip, accel super stock plug wires
Edelbrock 3" cat-back
MTX sub and amp, Bose all around

street kills: a lot of "family" cars, pickups, New v-6 stang, totally killed '86 SC Camaro.

Let me save you some trouble and aggrivation. You have 26 spline axles. The only way to check (if you really want to), you have to pull the axle out.

Trust me though, they are 26.
