I just wanted to tell everybody that I have tried TURBO LINK for the TTA and the T-Type and it worked.......it scanned everything the Auto Xray did...

All you need is the software and a laptop

Well not yet...I have to figure how to work it all first and I still have the timing chain problem to fix. Then I hope to share anything that may help.

Still getting 5 knock counts at idle

Knock counts at start up is normal in TL. Remember the Knock Counts just keeps a running total of how much the ECM has seen. Your starter makes alot of noise when you first start the car, hence the counts.

Would that explain why the scan software never goes back to zero.....It stays at 5

Yes. But I think you should see some knock counts as you are driving the car. The computer should always be trying to retard timing during normal cruising until it senses knock while trying to optimize fuel effiency.

All three of the TBI vehicles I have scanned using TL show some knock while driving the car. Of course they all have/had more than 130k miles on them too.

My car has yet to turn any knock counts accept for the few at startup. Now I know why....it's because I run higher octane AND burned my own custem eproms! lol
If you aren't getting ANY counts after a long drive (cruise and hard WOT) then you can either program in some more timing OR adjust base timing a bit. The problem with adjusting base timing is the startup. Too much advance that the car will have a hard time starting.
