I have recently bought a 302 from a 69 camaro. It has been done up a little. It has the Z option cam, AFR heads and Air Gap intake. I recently have the motor out of my RS because I was doing a 350 swap. I've seen these motors turn out 600 h.p. This one is supposed to turn 415 h.p. at the flywheel. I know that not many 69's had the 302, and I know I would be poss. the only one with it in a third gen. Let me know what you guys think. Hot Rod Magazine here I come!!!!

 

It should make a good engine if you get the right rear end gears for it, it has a short stroke so it does not have very good low end torque like a 350 does so you will need some steep gears to help get it moving, but you should have a really good top end.

Well I have a Mosier 9" w/ 4.10 gears that are going into it. What I like the most is that it can rev. to 8000 easily.

 

Very good idea. You will have a Super high RPM screamer on your hands. I like!

don't put an auto behind it. See how high DOHC Cobra Mustangs rev for referance. They swear by 4.30 gears.
