It is the injector pod. You may have to do some modifications to the stock pod to make it fit on the Holley TB. Swapping 'em is pretty easy if you've got your stock throttle body off the car in the garage...
1. Remove the fuel nuts from the back of the stock injector pod.
2. Remove the three torx screws that hold the stock pod on the stock TB.
3. Remove the three Phillips head screws that hold the Holley pod to the Holley TB.
4.Here's the only tricky part. The stock injector pod has two round metal extentions out the bottom that fit into the stock throttle body. Big suprise, the Holley unit doesn't have the holes for the extentions. You'll have to cut 'em off.
5.Put the stock injectors on the Holley throttle body and screw the three screws and the fuel nuts into it.

okay guys....sorry to sound like a real dummy, but i just ordered the holley 670. If i'm reading correctly, this unit sucks? I would have to replace the new injectors with my old ones cause of bad fuel spatter? If you guys would maybe explain it in dummy terms for me.Thanks in advance.
UR, there's a good chance that your new holley will have the GM style injectors already on it. If the injectors look like your stock injectors then don't change them unless you need to.

well damn....how the hell can I make sure I get one with the GM injectors?
Also how good would a 350 hp capable 350 run with a holley 670 and a stage 2 chip installed on the 305 tbi computer with stock fuel pump....z28boy's website says that his engine ran great and that he just had to mess with the timing. Also what should I boost the fuel pressure up to with the stock pump on this engine?

The stock fuel pump isn't going to be the best thing. I'm running stock fuel pump with a 330hp engine and I just found out that my fuel pump is quiting on me. I have no pull beyond 4000rpm. I guess it's a risk you take.
As for the stock eprom working well....HA. Either you run rich at idle and okay at WOT OR you run good idle and lean WOT. The stock eprom was designed for half the power of your new engine, the VE tables are all crazy and the only work around for a good running setup would be a vacuum adjust fuel pressure regulator and some tuning.
Or you could go carb for less money. I personally am thinking about swapping on a carb just to get some kind of feel for my 1/4 mile mph and a decent time.

So your saying with these parts my motor should run great.
1. Holley 670 tbi
2. Higher flow fuel pump...like 100 gph
3. Custom fastchip
4. 350 knock sensor
Is this everything?...cause I'm about to start buying suff.

The fuel pressure regulator is built onto the Holley TB unit. It's easier to get to than the OEM because the regulator sticks up to the sky, not down into the engine. Drill out the little brass piece and you'll find an allen key screw. That is your fuel pressure regulator, tighten for more pressure, loosen for less.

HEY JON....what kind of harmonic balancer do you suggest?....I just have the one from my 305 on right now,
The engine is a 96 350 block(bored to 355) with Vortec heads 64cc, which are ported, Edelbrock Performer Rpm also ported, .450 .470 lift, hydraulic roller cam, 9:6:1 compression pistons.

I don't know if this hold true or not but from what I've heard, an 8" balancer is better than the 6 because it has a larger band. There was also an article in either Hot Rod or Chevy High Performance magazine that said an 8" balancer is a better buy than the smaller ones. Now if you have the money, go with fluidamp no question. I didn't have that $200+ so I just got the Summit 8" unit, works great and if you're using the stock 305 balancer than I would definatly change it. Oh yeah, and make sure to paint it black and get an 8" timing tape!
