89 350 TBI problems...
Our work truck died, 89 Chevy 350 TBI.
No spark and no fuel. No codes on the autoxray.
I had the ignition module tested, good. I also swapped out the ESC for one I kept from my 89 305 TBI, no change. What would die and take fuel and spark at the same time. We checked all fuses. This truck is pretty simple Give me some ideas for tomorrow so I can play mechanic again instead of Boat Lift/Davit installer. Thanks.

Sounds to me like the ECU is not getting power or something like a major wire short/break, after ECU. IE, you'd think there would be a code? You checked for codes, so I guess the ECU was operating/working with the Auto X-Ray?
Like suggested, I'd start backprobing for power along fuel pump, distributor, TPS, MAP, etc devices to see if they are getting power. Suspest distributor/dist wiring does sound good, though, as no tach signal would give no spark and/or fuel...

I did do some troubleshooting. I got over 10 volts at the tach hookup as well as the "C" and the "+" on the two prong connector that goes to the back of the distributor. I followed the troubleshooting guide as far as I could with my voltmeter. No test light. I cannot get the coil to pass the checks in the chiltons but I'm also not sure if I'm using my multimeter properly.
Also I jumpered voltage to the "C" terminal on the pick-up coil connector like in the t/s manual. Since I did not have a test light like it called for, I did see a voltage drop on the multimeter and heard the ignition module "click". Like I said, I had NAPA test the module and they said it was good.
Could this be something with the starter? The truck cranks but could the voltage lead off the solenoid that provides voltage to the ignition stuff have died? Seems once on my Camaro I left a wire off the solenoid and the car would crank but not start.
Thanks.

Turns out the pick-up coil was bad. No signal from the distributor to the ecm, no power to the fuel pump.
Thanks for the help gents!
