91 LO3 Formula Value

I did'nt know were to post this so i'll start here.
How much is my car worth? The book is just a guide, this car is better than a "daily driver".

1991 Formula WS6
49,000 original miles
LO3 TBI 5-Speed 3.08
Power windows,locks & mirrors
Perfect interior/exterior
My additions:
SLP Exhaust
Firestone Firehawk SZ50EP Tires
+ other small mods.

I know add on items can't be booked out but they should have some value to a F-Body collector. Just need a guess here. Thanks

I would guess 5K, give or take a few hundred bucks. Although the mileage is nice, not too many that low. $5500? Why, you selling?

Dunno... probably somewhere between $4500 and $5500, depends on who you sell it to.

The N.A.D.A. for Nebraska says Car value is about $5,000 to $5,500 but there is also a
add of $2,100 for low miles. I just didn't know if a car in show condition has a higher value?

Tas I already tried there but the value for my car there doesnt change with mileage, shows same value for 111k miles as it does for 11k miles. They don't adjust for miles at all up or down.

You may want to try www.edmunds.com also.
They have milage adjustments, and they are usually more realistic about their estimates than KBB is.

There are too many books that are available to the general public. If you really want to know the value of your car, ask a dealer. They have the needed book that most all dealers use. It's called the Black Book. They won't let you see it, but just tell them that you are looking to sell your car yourself.

Then there's the NADA which most banks use for loan values. The dealers have that also, but they may not let you see it either. The NADA that you buy at Barnes & Noble, etc., is not the same one. Don't think that it is. And the 'dealer NADA' has different loan values for private party sales than dealer sales. Dealer sales being higher. Try to price your car the same as the loan value. That way the buyer doesn't have to come up with any money down for the bank to give him/her a loan. They'll be able to walk outta the bank with a check that day.

I used to sell cars and the one thing I always hated was when people would come in with info from "General Public" books and think their car was worth gold. I learned then that it was best to have a dealer give you an appraisel on any car.

BTW, take it to a Pontiac dealer. A Ford or Dodge dealer is gonna tell you that it's worth the price of the tires that it's rolling on.

A pile of cow **** is worth a $100,000 if you can find someone to pay that much for it.

AJ
