Cost between $40 and $80 to do it.The machinist needs to take the time to index the bores so that the bore is exactly in the middle. The walls are very thin. Mine is 1.98
". I don't think it will make much of a difference on an LO3.If you go to some better heads or a 350 then maybe.......bob

Yeah, I really don't think it's worth it unless you couple it with the 454 or Holley throttle body and a nice pair of heads and some PROM tuning.

I heard that you can't bore the Edelbrock intake out to 2" like the 454 TBI is. Is that true or am I just full of it?

I'd say you got the short end of a casting difference.
I've heard it being done before...

Re: Boreing out Edelbrock intake

Mines been bored out to 50mm and I haven't had a single problem. So NO the walls aren't to thin to do this, Maybe if the manifold was bored out larger than this you might have a problem. Plus there have been MANY people on this board that have done it.

Add me to the list of people that have bored them to 2.00".

I would go with Vortecs and a 2" bore marine intake, lol.

Re: Boreing out Edelbrock intake

My hand is also raised for hitting 2" on the Edelbrock unit. Perhaps earlier castings had thinner walls.

The Holley unit may be your better option. Buying and modifying the Edelbrock unit will come at around the same cost, if not more, than the Holley unit. The downside is that the Holley unit is not 100% interchangeable with the stocker like the Edelbrock unit is. No big deal though and everything is pretty simple to hook up with standard fittings.
