Winter Romp In Jersey Update

hey guys
can we get a good head count as to how many people are plannign to be there? maybe if we get enough people i can call atco and they can have some lanes ready for just us.
also i was thinkking about an easy way for us to all identify each other. i will be writing my handle on my back glass, that is what we usually do when a bunch of us from camaroz28.com go to the track together.
anyway, who's in? who's out? who's bringing friends? who is down for dinner afterwards?
the people i can gaurantee will be there:
me

Count me in, as long as I can get my tranny in and working by then. I'd say as of now I'm 80% sure I'll make it. I'll keep you informed. That would be awesome if you can get our own lane. - Randy

I think this might turn into a pretty big gathering. We might need to make reservations somewhere for dinner. Tim, do you want me to organize this or should you do it since you've got the experience (nats at e-town).

Hi everyone. I've been hanging out here on 3rdgen.org for about a month now..reading all the posts and learning all about the 3rd gen f-bodies. I just picked one up 4 weeks ago. She's an 89 T-Top Firebird with a L03 and auto trans. 145K on the motor and she smoked like hell, but it sat for two years outside (New England winters are hell) and it started as SOON as hit the key. Needless to say, I took it and only paid 5 bills for it! The body and frame is solid with a nice little "ding" in the pass side door and it needs a paint job.

I would very much enjoy coming to this get-together that you all are having. Sounds like a lot of fun. In about 2 hours, I'm dropping the block, heads & crank off at the machine shop. I'm hoping to get the car on the road by that time and if so, would love to come down there and hang out/meet all of you.

Sorry so long, but how else would you get to know me?

Later...

Got the 295/50/15 Pep Boy GLS specials. Good to 112 continuous... Aughta be good enough for a Wrangler for a trip to the drags.

Low-mid 13's, 95-100mph ish???

no one will be laughing at you no matter what you run. there will be a few guys who are close to stock there for you to run against. besides it won't hurt the car at all, these things weren't exactly designed for gettign groceries, so none of the parts are marked fragile.

Yeah, you must not keep driving the car down the track if you dump oil or coolant. If you keep going down the whole length of the track we will all beat you up .
Seriously: Nothing different, if you're faster than 13 you need a driveshaft loop, if you're faster than 12 you need a roll bar. You can't have lots of length of rubber fuel line, I think something like a max of 12" but don't worry about that one.
Tim, what are we going to do about helmets? I gotta see if I can pickup a few. I haven't been to Atco in a long time, not sure where they rent em.

Hey, I'm gonna be there.
I just took another look at the final exam schedule, and I don't have an exam til the 20th. I'll be able to go, and I'm down for dinner. Partay at deadtrend1's place sounds good, too.
Let us know where dinner is going to be.
I'm not bringing the AntiChrist, seeing as its not reg'd/insured, so I won't be able to race.
Can I still browse the pits looking for you guys? Remember to write your names on your back windows.
See you on the 15th.
EDIT: Somebody recommend a cheap hotel for a night. I'm gonna need to spend a night in NJ.
