Which cam would be best?

Hi all... Ok, here's the scoop. I'm doing a complete rebuild on an 89 305 L03. I'm trying to decide which cam would be better. Here's what I have now and what I plan on for future mods..

Now:
305 bored .030 with forged 9.3 pistons
stock heads
stock intake and exhaust manifolds
TBI (stock)
CraneCam HI-6S ignition with PS-92 Coil
700 Trans w/stock conv.
2.73 open rear end (big bummer here!!)

Future mods:
Ultimate TBI
Headers, Y-pipe, high-flow cat and cat-back with 3" pipe.
Edelbrock TBI intake
Heads (not sure, but probably the World S/R Torquer)
Trans-Go Shift Kit
3:23 (or 3:42) gears with posi

I'm getting the block back from the machine shop on Wednesday which at that time I will start to put the puppy together. I've narrowed the cam selection down to two, both are CraneCams Compucams (now known as the Powermax).

Choice #1 : Compucam 2030
204/218 dur. @ .050 429/458 lift 116* lope sep.

Choice #2 : Compucam 2031
208/218 dur. @ .050 438/458 left 112* lope sep.

This will be a daily driver. I'm not setting a goal as to how fast I want to go in the 1/4 or how much HP I want. I'm just looking for the best combo.

Thanks...
Mike

Car: 92 Camaro RS
Engine: 350 Crate Motor
Transmission: Tremec TKO
Axle/Gears: 10 Bolt 3.73
I have the 2030 in my TBI 350.Very happy with it so far.Making about 310 HP at the flywheel and 375+ ft/lbs.This cam came as an option in the crate motor I bought.Mine is a daily driver also.Didn't see the need for too much cam, since I have another car with a big block in it at home that's set up for drag racing.
The rest of my combo is as follows:
9.2 to 1 Pistons
Stock GM TPI Heads.
Edelbrock Performer TBI Intake
Turbo City Ported Throttle Body
Turbo City Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator
Moroso Chrome Open Element 14x3" Air Cleaner
Stock 350 Truck Injectors (61 lb?)
160 Degree Thermostat
Custom Chip from Ed Wright at Fastchip
1-5/8"SLP Headers/Y-Pipe
3" Catco Cat
3" Flowmaster Cat-Back System
Accel Billetech Distributor
MSD Blaster GM Coil
MSD Wires
Hayes 30 lb.Billet Flywheel
Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch
Stock (rebuilt once) T5 Trans
Just finished rebuilding 10 bolt rear out of Z28, has 3.73 Richmond Gears,Posi,Disc Brakes. Will install this next month.
Planning on a Tremec TKO in the Spring too.
New motor turned my gutless 92 RS 305 into a really fun daily driver. The 116 degree lobe seperation of the 2030 makes the TBI setup and computer happy.Idles pretty much like it's stock.

Do you think the lope sep of 112* on the 2031 cam would cause problems with the computer? I was kinda hoping to get some kind of NON-Stock "lope sound" out of it.

That's one thing I was concerned about. The extra lift/dur in the 2031 cam is not much more, and once I get the intake/head/exhaust combo she'll be able to really breathe much better. It's the 112* lope sep that has me wondering.

You should be ok with the 112 LS, just not as good/ecu friendly as 116LS
