Spiral Max or Tornado???

Has anyone heard of the products "Spiral Max" or "Tornado" that are installed at the
end of the snorkel near the air cleaner??
It supposed to increase air flow, hp (up to 30hp) and gas mileage (up to 38%) It is only
$65.00 and I was considering making a purchase.

do the search, actually do it on any decent car site and you will see that they are crap and not worth the work of poping your hood open. and the kind that tas has will help you more than these probably will

Complete waste of money. You'd be better off spending that money on a tank of gas! Spiral my ***. Sorry but it's just a serious joke. It's almost like a tatoo for the everyone else to know who is an idiot. Example: Guy runs 15.6, installs this spiral thing, tells his friends, runs a 15.7, doesn't know what's wrong....we all laugh AT him.

No she isn't. If her car is running lean from the factory then YES, the spiral crap will work. You want to know why it will make more power? Easy: NA engines like to run slightly richer than 14.7 to make the max horsepower. That effects this ration under WOT....fuel AND air. On speed density systems the car doesn't measure the amount of air entering the engine. This is good and bad, bad for adaptation to horespower mods but good because it's cheap (no MAF) and doesn't restrict the intake flow any (doesn't head up the air either like those MAF wires). Okay, now if you slow down the air on a lean speed density system you'll get a lower air fuel ratio. This can sometimes over balance the effect of the restriction. This is also the reasoning why tuning AFR is SO touchy. An engine can run great with 14:1 at 3000rpm but at 4000rpm it might not like it being that rich and might run best at 14.4 etc.
There, I think Grumpy would be proud of this reasoning.
