Edelbrock Perfromer TBI
Edelbrock Perfromer TBI
hypothetically, what type of power increases would we be talking about with the following parts on a totally stock LO3:
Edelbrock Air Cleaner # 1207
Edelbrock Inatake manifold # 3704
Edelbrock Cam shaft # 3702
Edelbrock Air Cleaner # 1207
Edelbrock Inatake manifold # 3704
Edelbrock Cam shaft # 3702
unless Vic Edelbrock is around you might want to give us more info.

Do NOT go with the edelbrock cam. It's a flat tappet and you have a roller setup. You would need to get new longer pushrods and the cam isn't that great anyways.
The performer TBI intake is good for 5-10hp if you have a cat-back exhaust or whatever. Usually the intake doesn't do much unless you do a cam swap and THAT is what I'm about to tell you to do.
Find a used LT1 cam from a 95-97 f-body. They're always for sale for real cheap and understand that a roller cam doens't really put on miles. They're good for 300K+ miles.
Okay, I've said too much again. If you can get the performer TBI for cheap, get it, it's a good intake for the 305 and well matched to the LT1 cam. I hope you have some sort of exhaust work done. The stock Lo3 exhaust manifolds are pathetic. Try and get a hold of at least the 305 or 350 TPI manifolds and y-pipe. They can usually be had for pretty cheap considering the cost of headers now are in the sub $200 range.

as for the info, it would be a totaly stock LO3 getting the above mentioned parts. There are many different parts, so I put the basic part plus the part number. edelbrock's website has P/N's
Thanx for the detailed reply also!

If your car is still stock I would do exaust mods and ultimate TBI mods(including an open element air cleaner) first. Then like Jon said, intake and LT1 cam next.
------------------
92RS LO3 700R4
open air element
ultimate TBI mods
LT1 cam
Edelbrock TBI performer manifold
180 thermostat
Hooker headers
3"cat back
Zexel Torsen posi with 3.42 gears

thats what I figured. I was just wondering. I was hoping (against the odds, i know) to find a L69 air cleaner assembly, instead of going the 'tradional' route of the open air cleaner.

Get an LT1 cam, performer intake, open element, free TBI mods including fuel pressure. Do the exhaust at the same time but make sure your first mod is an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. No engine likes running leaner than stoich (14.7:1) at WOT!
