Want to do an lt1 swap. what do i need?
thats basically it. i have the 305 tbi engine in a camaro 92 rs. ive been told its the LO3 engine. anyways, ive heard they dont respond that well to mods, so making decent power out of this thing would be pretty expensive.
my question is:
other than the lt1 motor itself, what other things do i need to perform the swap? what parts on my 305 tbi will be compatable with the lt1? will the 700r4 be compatable?

The cam, pistons and rods are about the only thing that will swap between an LT1 and your LO3.
Who ever said that the LO3 doesn't respond well to mods is full of ****. Just about every thing about the motor was the smallest and least power producing parts that GM ever made. The exhaust and cam is THE smallest ever put on a small block.
Who ever told you that they don't respond to parts might have tried to add a cam, intake and exhaust all at the same time. In this case the ECM was completely blind to all the changes and it would have ran like poo. The key to performance with TBI is tuning. The software is free, and the hardware is cheap.
Intake, cam and exhaust swap with tuning will get you breathing on the 13's. When you step back and think about it TBI is just a means of delivering fuel to the engine. If you provid the proper amount of fuel then it's no different than any other form of induction.

Tunerpro is the software I speak of, and Moates.net is the place to get your burning hardware. You're looking at about 150$ for all the hardware you need to burn chips. The chips cost about 5$ a piece and can be reburned over and over.
