1.6 Roller Rockers

Did a search and couldn't find any useful information, but I was wondering what rockers i should order from Summit for price and reliability, and should i order anything else with it?

But that aside is there any tuning changes i should make, i have my current tune for my full exhaust and a few mods, but will it change the VE?

Re: 1.6 Roller Rockers

Standard stamped steel or steel RR from comp-cams or similar would work. Nothing aluminum. I doubt youll see a huge change in your VE. Probably just a relatively minor increase in certain areas. 1.6 ratio rockers are more of an incremental change then anything else.

Re: 1.6 Roller Rockers

if your going to spend 200 bucks on roller rockers just get comp cams pro magnum rockers. jegs has them for about 280. full roller design, stronger then aluminum. and you could expect a 10-15 hp increase over a stamped steel stock rocker.

Re: 1.6 Roller Rockers

I would go with a set of stamped 1.6 summit brand rockers for 87' and later heads. You won't any noticable difference compaired to true roller set-up. Not worth the extra $150 when $50 can net you a solid hp gain. The stock cam can take all the help it can get and 1.6 rockers are a pretty good mod. I would only consider them if I didn't already have headers or at least a cat-back. Your $50 is better off in a savings jar until you can afford the rest.

Re: 1.6 Roller Rockers

summit dosnt carry a stamped Self-Aligningrocker other then 1.5 stockers
from gm proformance parts

the summit ones are not Self-Aligning and would need screw in studs negateing the cost saveings of useing the stamped vs something roller
also why are alloy ones not recommeded they came stock on lt-4 engines apperently gm feels there ok for use on production engines

I bought these for my 90 RS a few years back (were alittle cheaper then) and I picked up .15s in the quarter mile.
They are 87+ self realigning stamped rockers and even though the description says otherwise they do come with the pivot ball and nut.

Re: 1.6 Roller Rockers

When going to 1.6 rockers the pushrod is closer to the pivot point so be sure to check for pushrod clearance.......
