Re: timeslip
Slow 60' time and that's why your ET is a little slow. Improve the 60' and the ET will drop in equal, or better, measure. The mph is decent so your engine is running well especially in warm (non-Fall) weather.

Re: timeslip
Your MPH is around where the T-5 LB9's with similar mods are, and those run near 15 flat with a good launch. With a better launch, you could get low 15's.

Re: timeslip
no my car does not have any wheel hop at all, and actually im not a drag person i usually drift alot i got threw tires like crazy but the tires i had on had like 70% life left, on the spinning side tho i did spin a little at inital take off and i dont take off holding a steady rpm i just take of all in one motion example: release clutch semi fast with throttle about 25% then 50% then floor it right after. thanks again for replying. and im curious what should my car run complety stock?

Re: timeslip
put 3.73 with a posi, that will help you alot with your 60' times, you can take out the seats if you want, quick and easy to do, besides that, take out what you don't use.

Re: timeslip
IMO=IN MY OPINION. 3.73's deffinately be better, i noticed a huge difference going from 2.73 to 3.08 like 3/10's in my 60'. I am moving up to a 3.42 here pretty soon 3.73 is a lil too steep for my every day driver.

Re: timeslip
My best time was a 10.88 (1/8th) a few weeks ago and that was with a 700-R4 and 2.73 open gears. Hopefully tonight I'll have my 3.42 posi done and I'll try to run it thursday night. Honestly if I could get down to where you are I'd be a lot happier. I'd think 3.73s are a bit much, but then again I have them in my SS and don't mind them.

Re: timeslip
that's a damn sight better than I did my first time out there. but i had unusually horrid results. still, a very respectable time for any car, 15.6 is NOT a slow car.
are you sure that thing is open diff? when i had wheel hop..well, I didn't. it sat roasting one tire and I stayed good and in place. it was pathetic.

LOL, think of it this way though, you would be nearly a full second behind my Chevy G20 Conversion van with its Cammed VortecTBI 350. It recently ran a 14.73 @ 94 mph in the 1/4.

Re: timeslip
cam it if you want hp, but if you want faster track times:
full exhaust
tune it
get better quality tires
switch to limited slip
sub-frame connectors
rear suspension upgrade
those'll get you some nice reductions without digging into the motor.
----------
that's a MEEEANN van.

Re: timeslip
I've got a 5speed too, I went 3.42's with a takeout zexel-torsen posi differential. It made a huge difference and cruising on the highway is just fine, no problem at all and I cruise at 80 or so with fairly low RPMs still. Other than that, just learn to launch it better, practice makes perfect.

you must only be in 3rd going through the top end, right??
my 03 s-10 ran a
60ft 2.456
330' 6.789
1/8th 10.379 @ 68.49
1000' 13.457
1/4 16.0 @ 88mph
3.08 gears and a 5spd runnin through the traps at 5k in 3rd.. and i did NOT spin more than a small chirp in every gear.. you must be having some serious traction issues or something is wrong.. i trap almost the same mph as you and .4 slower..

Re: timeslip
That's a pretty good run! Get those 60' times down, practice makes perfect. As far as mods go, a 4th gen rear with 3.42's and posi will go a long way (3rd gen rear would be more desireable but they're a little more difficult to come by), headers, and EBL/Prominator or something similar to get the tuning going.
Good luck

Re: timeslip
Well I ran the 'bird again tonight and with the new posi gears I ran a best of 10.56. My best 60ft was 2.37 and my best R/T was .073 I think. This is 1/8th mile. My L03 is bone stock with the exception of an L69 air cleaner (but with no hoses yet unfortunately), no cat, and a flowmaster muffler. I was manually shifting at around 4700 RPMS.

Re: timeslip
posi, that helps alot. my l03 car is stock except an open air element, and a few things removed but all in all 9 tenths stock and i ran 15.6's at 85. four miles slower then you so you have more power, probably about 12-20 horses more. but i had good tires, and also posi. you get that going on which you need to drift anyways, and you'll hit low 15's, maybe high 14's with a tune. it's all in the launch with these cars, kill em off the line or go home.. as far as "camming" i wouldn't suggest that for a good long while for you, better off with exhaust mods, less work more rewards..
in comparison im running 14.4's in my gta with a 2.0 60 ft, l98 car with all performance options for 87, and she's more stock then the camaro! and it weighs in almost as heavy as fast355, by the way when you going to get an f body fast? i've seen your streetfire moves dude! you're a killer!

Re: timeslip
When I had my tbi 305 in my car I got it down to 14.01 with just bolt ons. Underdrive pulleys, headers, edelbrock intake, ported tbi with flowmatched injectors, and a posi with a 3.73 gears. The car is also a 5 speed car with a 3.30 first gear. I could have got the car in the 13's no problem but i ran out of track time and a 383 sounded more fun.

Re: timeslip
Last week at the track I got it down to a 10.26 @ about 66mph. All I did for that run was bump the timing to 6 degrees. I had it at zero initially. So I got another 3 tenths in the eighth from just advancing the distributor. It was kind of disappointing that the gears only got me as much as changing the timing did, but ti was still free horsepower.

Unfortunately I don't live near a 1/4 mile track. I'll hopefully get a chance to go out to one with all my coworkers in the next couple of months. I'm guessing I'm just somewhere in the 15s.
