Intake manifold

I appreciate all the info i got on replacing my intake manifold, i wont use the front & rear gaskets in the set, i will use silicone like u all suggested. So after i put it back together, do i need to let the silicone dry for several hours before using the car?

also does adding an edlebrock intake actually give u more horsepower on a stock 305 tbi?

i've heard yes & no.

Re: Intake manifold

the stock tbi intake is only good till 4200 rpm or so.
you may not make more hp/tq but you will have more usable hp/tq.
also remember the factory tbi intake was NOT designed for performance use!

Re: Intake manifold

You want a wait a few hours to let the RTV set-up. Overnight is best but you can a few hours. Read the back of the tube. It varies depending on brand and type.
