New combo
New combo
Hey just wondering what you guys think of this combo?? Im ordering a set of edelbrock rpm cylinder heads with 64cc 2.02/1.60 set up along with a comp xfi268 cam. This will go onto my current 350 wich already has flat tops and an edelbrock rpm air-gap manifold with 2" tbi and big block injectors. Just wondering if any one has anything similiar?? I should be running about 9.5 static compression and I do all of my own tuning. Any ideas on what type of power to expect and how it will be to tune this cam? Thanks for the help guys.
Re: New combo
those are the heads I run. same on the cam. holley projection manifold with 454 TBI. that air gap with lack of exhaust crossover in head will create atomization issues until fully heat soaked. will need more AE based on low coolant temps. are you in hot climate? I am not. is sluggish up to 3000 rpms with that cam. I am running 80 lbs injs at 20 lbs FP. I have 3.07 gears with manual trans. i need gears(3.73). i can cruise at 70 mph at 1800 rpms. 1984 crossfire vette.
Re: New combo
Im am currently running the airgap manifold on the engine right now with a comp xe256 cam and dont have any problems with the cooler weather. I just take it easy until the temp gauge starts to move and then all is good. I agreee with the Ae tuning though I did have to increase it a fair amount over the stock tune. Right now she pulls good from 1500to5000. I do also need 3.73 since i also have 3.08 in a 1/2ton 2wdr pu. It has run a best of 15.8 in the 1/4 mile though. NOt bad for a pu I thought with a very mild combo. Thanks for the info and I will take note about loosing some bottom end!!! time for a higher stall converter to I guess??
