Stalls shortly after put in gear?

Engine: Heavily modified 355 on TBI
Transmission: Had a 4L60e. Now a 700R4
Axle/Gears: Bone Stock
Stalls shortly after put in gear?
Hey guys,
Quick question...when I put it into any gear the AFR immediately jumps to 10.5. within 20 to 30 seconds it will stall. (actually it jumps to 10.5 then the ecm sees the rich condition and overcorrects then it dies. but will immediately start up again.
I can actually put it in and out of gear and watch the commanded AFR toggle back and forth from 14.7 to 10.5
I dont believe its an idle setting because I've kept everything above 850 RPM in all the tables and the idle is very stable when in park or neutral and the MAP value in park and in gear is very very close.
Any ideas how to correct this?
